WELCOME TO MINISTRY APPRENTICE TRAINING  G8 2025 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

The G8 National Conference exists under Christ, to gather MAT Stakeholders (apprentices, alumni apprentices, trainers, theological students, church leaders and para-church gospel workers) from Zimbabwe and surrounding African countries to:

Learn from God's word (primarily in main session talks),preached with specificity to grow the character and conviction of the apprentice.

Network with their Gospel peers (primarily through time in Network Groups), building relationships that will be sources of support and encouragement throughout their coming decades in ministry.

Adopt the Trellis and the Vine DNA (primarily through Trellis and the Vine workshops), leaving their first year of G8 convicted to prioritize proclamation, prayer and people in their ministry.

Respond to the challenge to train others (primarily through Passing the Baton workshops), leaving their second year of G8 convicted to train others post-apprenticeship, with a view to recruiting apprentices post-college.

Grow in their capacity as trainers of Gospel workers (primarily through Train the Trainer workshops), sharing ideas and wisdom with their Gospel peers.

 Interact with one another and the ideas raised during the conference (over meals and during free time), enabling apprentices to learn from a range of more experienced Gospel workers.

Invest in growing, challenging, encouraging and praying for apprentices as they continue their journey towards a lifetime of Gospel ministry.

 Cross-pollination of ideas and the wisdom gained from experience training apprentices, peer-to-peer.


MATG8 National Conference
The G8 National Conference is an annual residential Conference that happens over a period of 3 days. The 2025 conference will be held at Resthaven Retreat center from 11-14 March 2025. Conference video recordings will be made publicly available after the Conference on the MAT website.
Meet Our Speaker

 John Bell

John was born in Zimbabwe and was saved at the age of 14. After serving as a policeman, he went to study the Bible and Theology in the United States where he met his wife Miriam and returned to Zimbabwe in 1984. John pastored in Bindura for over 12 years and then Central Baptist Church in Harare for 20 years before he joined the pastoral team at Covenanters in 2018. John and Miriam have been blessed with 4 biological children, 2 foster children, and 4 grandchildren. He is also a lecturer at Harare Theological College teaching Hermeneutics and Homiletics. He loves teaching and preaching, as well as gardening and playing squash.

This will cover accommodation, food, conference handbook and other conference material. Note that this fee does not include transport to and from the conference venue.(50% discount for early bird registration ends on 31 January 2025)
